Topic: Ability to move a thread to another area

It seems it would be very helpful that as a thread gets popular - that it may warrant its own category.

Or maybe someone starts a thread in a category that rally makes more sense to have it in another category. SO to have a comment that this thread is being moved to... so and so
I guess what I am including in the "wish list" here is:
Being able to either copy the thread and paste it somewhere else or move it elsewhere and then delete it from that area.

Hey cellular, good question because we currently have that feature, it's just hard to notice.  When view a topic, the parent post will lost the categories and a link to 'change'.  We're moving that feature down into the 'More Actions' drop down so it can be easily found.

Hey Chief sorry for bringing up an old topic but I still cant move topics to other sections. It wont work on any browser (IE6, IE7, FF).

On the 'Classic' theme, which you're running, you can edit a topic by clicking the 'EDIT' link to the right of the category listing above the first post in a topic. It's in a confusing area at the moment and we'll move it soon.

are you still having this problem on Firefox? On IE, it seems to do nothing and we'll have it fixed soon.

Hi Chief

I want to move just some of the posts under a thread to 'n new category, but it seems that I can move the whole thread (only the parent post has an Edit function at the top). So I can move the whole thead, but that's not what I want to do, I only want to move certain posts. How do do do that?

I decided to move the whole thread, because more posts must go to the new categry. Now the Edit function does not work AT ALL! Hope to hear from you soon!

People get carried away with a thread and then I need to move certain post to a new thread.

Hi,
that feature is on the planning sheet, to break threads down when they get out of hand, but I can't say when it will be implemented. It's a big sheet!

So unfortunately right now its not possible, but it will be!
