There are two option to embed your forum within another webiste.

Option 1 (Read-only Flash Widget):

A read-only flash widget that works on almost all websites, just change "SUPPORT" to your forum's shortname.

By using your forum's RSS feed, such as http://SUPPORT.lefora.com/api/posts/?format=rss2, you can embed a widget into any of those sites using something like:

http://www.springwidgets.com/widgetize/?param=http://SUPPORT.lefora.com/api/posts/?format=rss2&param_style_borderColor=000066&param_style_brandUrl=&width=250&height=400

This will display a feed of your forum on any site.  Your friends can click through the widget to post in your forum.

Option 2: iframes:

Using an 'iframe' you can embed your full forum on to any website that allows you to embed an iframe.  Just paste this HTML tag below, and change "SUPPORT" to your forum's short name.

  • <iframe src="http://SUPPORT.lefora.com" width="800" Height="600"></iframe>

ok - but how about the other way around...

how can I use one of the available tabs like "about" (ideally it would be the "home" page and embed another site here with iframes into my forum?

basically I am trying to create a nice easy way to manage my fantasy league and lefora gives me what I need from a layout and forum and sidebar widgets etc but what I now need is to be able to embed in the main window the external fantasy website (ie Yahoo). Any thoughts?

hey mcmost1, we will be building out support for iframes in the future. We'll also be adding support to create individual 'pages' around your forum so that you can create static content. If you would like to be part of our beta testing group for this feature, drop me an email at 'chief -at- http://lefora.com with the name of your forum.

In the meantime, the Custom HTML widget supports all Flash Embeds, and there are some flash 'web browsers' that allow you to view another webpage within a flash widget, you could try that for the yahoo page.

I have embeded my forum http://my-walney.lefora.com/forum/ in a page of my website:

www.my-walney.co.uk/forum.html

and the page looks good, but I cannot login or create members from here. If I open the forum from it own URL in a new browser is works just fine. Is this a bug in the forum code or am I doing anything wrong here?

Please help

I just tested it out and it works for me. What web browser are you using? I tested it in Firefox 2.

I tested it in IE. The forum works, its just the pop up windows for logging in and creating accounts.

the pop up window opens but when you click submit it just hangs!

I'll try it in other browsers to make sure they are the same as ie...

It seems that sometimes IE prevents a forum within an iframe from setting a 'cookie' on your computer.  However, this is needed to log you into lefora.  We're looking to a word around, in the meantime, Firefox works and you may be able to adjust this via your IE security settings.
