is this possible and if not will there be support for it in the future. Also how are you coming with the private forums?

it is possible, just like the chat widget you see here on the support forum. One popular chat widget we've seen on lefora is http://chatango.com

Private forums are almost ready to go live, we'll have them soon.

Thanks cheif. Just one more question is it possible to make the side bar a little wider in the themes? It seems to cut off the edge of our chat box

you can edit the sidebar with with CSS (if you know css), usually you can change the width of a widget by altering a number in the embed code you paste, something like 'width=280' you can just change to 'width=220'

Hi Chief. Can I get the instructions from you on where and how to configure a Chat Room on my forum? I looked at the ChatanGo website and I think it will work for our group but I want to make sure I get it right on this side of the house (i.e., does the Chatango HTML Code go in the Custom HTML widget, on a subject/topic page, where?). Thanks!

the chatango code goes into a 'Custom HTML' widget via your admin panel. If you still have questions, post them below.

chatango is great for me so far. Gives you the ability to mod people, boot, ban, etc, if you have to. Nice smilies, text options.

Only down point is that it doesn't show who's in chat, just how many Undecided

Here you go: http://chatango.com/

Just incase you have trouble finding where to click on there (I stared at it for a while like a tired kitten), click on "Get a private one on one chat".

You can edit your chat to match your colours and styles  on you forum as well. However, that's just the small version that you can use as a widget or paste into a topic to use as your chatroom. If you go to fullsize, your options are limited (you can only change the colour of text, the input box, etc)

I have copied and pasted the code in the CSS section and it saves it, but nothing happens in the forum. I saw another posting that explained going to the Forum admin and selecting the widget tab...i have no widget tab and where the widgets are, there is no option to customize or add any others than listed. What am I missing here?

cool, for future reference for anybody, the flash chat widget should be copied and pasted into the Custom HTML widget on your 'Sidebar' (not in the CSS).

At http://waspink.lefora.com/forum/    we have the chat box from Chatango. I can see what I am writing, but the other person cannot. She can see what she is writing and I cannot. We both get the Bleep to tell us it has been sent. Any ideas please. ..Thanks in advance.

it seems you set up your chatango widget to be a direct message (one-to-one) not to be used as a chatroom.  you can change your settings at chatango.com

My spoiled members are not too happy with the Chatango embedded chat box. Does Lefora forums support Flash Chat, and if so, how do I install it in my forum?

Just install your favourite chatbox instead of the chatngo.

Thanks. I've tried different of these chat boxes but none of them are optimal. Actually Chatango is the one I like best. My members still would like the Flash Chat, though, so the question is still whether this is compatible with Lefora forums and if so how I can install it. I don't think Flash Chat can be embedded, so I assume it can't be done.

If it's not flash, then it's unlikely. Having looked at your link, it looks like FlashChat is a misnomer.

I added a chat box and it works well. But if I look at it in google chrome while logged out, it shifts all the sidebar stuff down one place. This isn't a huge deal but it is kinda annoying. http://smallblimps.lefora.com/

I lowered the width from 280 to 279, but didn't make a difference.

Good instructions from coloneljack btw.
