How to make sub-categories??

OK then, Can I hide a category from appearing in the side bar?  If so, how?
   I ask because I need hundreds of catigories and wish to create my own links (within my lead catigories) to most other catigories.  I'm not a programmer but, hopefully, it wouldn't be too difficult to add such a feature to pick and choose which categories you want to be listed in the side bar.

ghs - the easiest way to do this is to remove the Forum Categories widget from the sidebar, and instead use the Custom HTML widget to just show links to your chosen categories...

     Sorry, I'm not a power user here. 
My next hurdle is to learn to make a "web page" - that's what msn groups called it anyway.  It was a page in the group that could be created by the manager, later could be edited at any time but would retain the same url.  Members could not reply to the web pages directly.   I need to make a bunch of them.  
 Can that be done in Lefora - and, if so, how?

As an Admin, you can start a topic and then lock it. As an admin you will always be able to go back and edit it. Also, you will be able to sticky it to the top of a category.

that's a good method colonel, and you can make several 'pages' just like this, i might even create a 'Pages' category for them, and make that category so only admins can start new topics.  Then, using your 'Links Widget' for your sidebar, you can link to each page from the sidebar.
