i would like it if we had little smiley icons insdead of putting the boring old Colon+parentheses.
And more smiley expressions, too.

Hey voltron
There is a way to put in smileys. If you click on the link above the text box, "switch to standard editor" you will have emoticons enabled.
ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. totally forgot about that cuz i use the other one.
thanks.
But i think it would be nice if it went as a smiley when you typed :) automatically. it would save quite a bit of time.
, be aware that there are tons of other features currently in the works that will make for more smiles on lefora
how about giving administrators ability to create custom smiley faces/pics ?-sffc
I think that would be great ^^
I'll bump this thread for a positive vote on increasing smiley's.
If you use FIREFOX Browser, you can get an add on called JustSmile. It pulls in smileys from all over, Yahoo, MSN etc. Better still you just type the code and the smiley appears so : followed by ) =
Good eh? And you can add your own. Like the infamous missing blush
I've uploaded smileys to a Photobucket account I started and then I copy and paste the smiley I want in the reply box. Seems to work for me.

Personally I do not like animated emoticons and would just prefer if the current range of emoticons were extended. More of the same, more feelings conveyed.
I've read most of the threads about smileys and emoticons and it seem to me that the majority wants more and your not willing to do anything I think I made a mistake coming to this for a forum and pay for it like I am so I guess I'll look around some where else.
hi mlrmorgan, it is on our feature list, and we have plans to add more emoticons in the future. There's a number of work arounds using smiley toolbars.
It's not that we're ignoring users, it's just we try to prioritize our feature list based on what will make an admin's life easier and what will help bring more members into a forum. Right now we're working on a new theming system and a robust email notification system that will remind inactive members of new activity on your forum (thereby having them return more frequently than other forum software).
Thanks for your feedback and voicing your concern.
