Ok so I have had to delete certain topics that at this moment can not be in the internet. I did and everything was fine till one of my users decided to search the topic on the forum's search bar. The topic still comes up, you cant click on it but you can read pretty much every post on that topic.

Thanks, Christian (Borix7)

that shouldn't be happening, we're looking into it. If you want to PM me with the search term you can find deleted posts with, it will help us debug. thanks.

Well today I did the search to PM you and there was nothing there. Apparently my users had been taking advantage of this for a while now to be able to read deleted topics. I tried really old deleted topics last night and they did come up but nothing today.

Guess you guys either fixed it or it just fixed itself. Ill let you know if it happens again.

Thanks

Sometimes there's a bit of a caching delay between when a post is deleted and when it is removed from search results, seems as if that was the case here. We'll work on speeding up posts being removed from search results.

hi chief,

indeed there is a caching delay also for images. i suppose when admin issues a delete command for either post, topic or image. (or even as simple as editing post)

Users will still be able to fetch the "supposed-to-be-deleted" material within the next X minutes before the cache is re-populated with the new data.

I guess the value for X supposed to be 0 (or closest number) but from a system load standpoint, that's pretty difficult.

Instead of starting a new thread I'll post my similar problem here. Not that it is a huge problem, just an annoying bug that someone pointed out to me.

The number of posts listed next to the categories are all wrong. I understand if it says 0 for a new thread with no replies. But when posts or topics within a category are deleted, the post count goes into the negative. This happens when all posts and/or threads in a category are removed or when the posts deleted are greater than the remaining real post count.

Also, when I went to delete a category that had no threads in it and listed a -2 post count, i got a pop up telling me I had to move all topics before it could be deleted, lol, there were no topics! Once I clicked on move topics, it moved the -2 to the other category! LOL wow, good times!

Feel free to take a look at it yourself. Also feel free to make suggestions or comments about our forum in the ...and whatever else category

thanks xx-archer-xx, we'll look into this.

also, thanks for breaking out such detail on the actions you took, that's incredibly helpful.

it reminds me of a story that a person told me about a bug at an online bank, that if you transferred negative money into somebody's account, it actually put money in your account!

I have the same problem with my forum here:
http://greekmodernmusic.lefora.com/forum

In this category there are six topics:

Recently I deleted a post (after a member's request) and then the post count dropped to -1.

Hi dionysys,
I have just fixed that and set it back to the correct value.
Thanks for reporting it, sorry about that.
