New Posting Editor arrives January 15th

I too think I too preferred the old editor as well. I think for newcomers it was easier and more straight forward with the You tube button and the upload pic button. The non media editor would have been fine if it had more options and was not hard to figure out as it was set up. Losing pics on editing was a pain, so in that respect I do like this change. I suspect there will be many that will have no idea what the embed flash or the insert image is for, and will be trying to post their pics from their own files,as it says "Insert Image",  instead of just using the upload files button. Some new members were expressing frustration with the old editor, I hope this does not increase it.

I think it's great your always trying to improve a great service to begin with. I'm just not sure yet that this an improvement. I may be alone with these thoughts, but I also want to say I am appreciative of all your hard work and efforts.

Not only Avatars but Signatures were filled with obscene words. Looks like someone hacked into the Server. It looks like it is fixed now (Avatars back). My net was down for the last 3 hrs and I could not report it.

Seems like my first problem is resolved....But still can't post graphics...

I like the new way to insert images cuz I can add the description to each photo. :)
But still want to know;
1-  if we can access our members' profiles? My friends want me to put their profiles photos for them...and in case they forget their password. I am a former takeforum user. ( I could do that before so just wonder!!)
2- if we can limit some members to read some topics?

I'm having problems with words jamming together after the update on my forum and a friend of mine's forum. Their avatars are also missing. Another thing is I can't put an extra space in between paragraphs and the more I try to edit it, the more it takes them out. It might just be when I'm doing quotes for the extra space problem but I'm not sure at this point.

The words jam together in certain intervals and seems to also only be after editing?

Example: Summarizingthat, If you do a search for say, ET.exe, you would searchfor ?T.exe aslong as it has not been overwritten it should still be onyourharddrive waiting to be overwritten. Time is of the essence QT.

Just to say good work guys, it's great that you are constantly improving things. You could get ISO9001 with that philosophy.

However, quoted text in mail REPLY is still not there. Have to C&P to make it work.

Still monitoring my members comments and will report any more bugs.

Love the new features, just one question, how do we embed youtubes direct into our post now? That feature seems to have been removed

In Youtube, click in the text box to the right of EMBED.
Copy the text from there like

Paste the text in the box that appears
Click the green EMBED FLASH button
Et Voila!
The new feature lets you embed ANY flash movies not just YouTube.

Thanks, I just noticed somebody else had already asked that question, I'll give it a go.

I just want to say a huge big THANKYOU!!!!!!  Maybe its not for everyone, but for msn groups, where we are used to being able to have these things it is a huge blessing. Helps make our static pages (messages) look a little more webpagey  ( yeah I know its not a word lol).

I tried posting a youtube both ways and it won't work for me.  It does detect a youtube and gives me 2 options and when I hit submit I get a flash logo in the text box but the message won't submit.

I also can't post attachments as I used to using the upload file button, they attach just below the upload button but not into the text box.  When I hit submit it doesn't submit but gives me a new button - Be Heard, which does nothing!

However, I can add youtubes and attachments here on this forum, HELP!

What happened to the Spell Checker that was built into the editor? I am a Horrible Speller and that sucker really helped out! Can we please have that back?! 

Oh and two other things.

1 When our Avatars got changed, the signatures got changed as well and mine got changed to "Monkey King"... so to the hacker that did that... I'm flattered, but leave my signature alone, Everybody KNOWS I'm the Monkey King!

2 All the fonts on my forum and every other one I've looked at no looks smaller. Is this just me? Its kind of hard to read.

Other than those few minor probs... everything looks grreat!

and for resizable text boxes, i was mistaken, it is not supported in safari or ff.  however we've made the textbox larger.

also note, youtube videos, flickr photos, photobucket photos are all working in this editor.  I will put tutorials together on how to use these features today.

Please keep in mind, that we're making improvements to this text editor.  A few comments above seem to ignore the fact that we *always* listen to people and are always making adjustments and improvements on features, nothing is every final.
