New Posting Editor arrives January 15th
Also, the double and triple posting is running rampant on my forum. Any solution here, guys? This has become a huge issue with my members and is causing several of them to stop posting.
We are also getting a ton of network errors.
for the person who asked about indenting text, just use the <TAB> key.
Known Issues: this has been stated multiple times, but spacing between paragraphs is buggy and will be fixed.
Slow load times, or double posting - we're upgrading our servers this week and should fix any of those issues.
I'm locking this thread because it's covering a lot of topics. If you have any specific questions/issues, please search for an existing thread or start a new one with a descriptive topic title.
The only problem that I have found is if you type your complete message and then go back to add the emoticons, it will not put them where you have the cursor, and if you go to move them, it won't let you move them where you want. Sometimes it won't let you put one in the post at all. Also, is there a way to remove a emoticon once you have put it is a post? All of these features were working before and now for the last couple of weeks, this is happening.

that's another bug with the editor, that if you 'edit', you have to type a few words first, before you can do certain actions like move media around, delete videos, insert emoticons, etc. we should have that fixed soon.
I have found that some times it will just stay at 99% when adding a picture. I have had to post it without the pic and then go back and edit it so it will post the picture.
I like what u've done so far, but i would like to see widgets that can be added onto forums.

This was posted around January 20th. I confirmed with Col Jack that this and has been a big problem with the editor. Any thoughts on when spacing between paragraphs will be fixed?
hi cdowden3691, since jan 20th, we have made a number of improvements to the posting editor.
I assume you're having this problem when you copy and paste text from another website or program? We fixed this problem when you are typing directly into the posting box.
We're constantly trying to make improvements to the posting editor, but the extra line spacing comes from the fact that other websites or software programs have extra markup information or different HTML which includes those line breaks. Another website might take other behaviors to hide them, such as condensing line height, etc.
We recommend that you copy and text into a PLAIN TEXT EDITOR such as notepad, before copying and pasting back out into lefora, this will remove any extra markup or HTML that is in your copied text.

The above problem with spacing of paragraphs continues to happen most often when editing something I have typed in and already posted (not talking about copying and pasting). The problem is that either paragraph breaks are ignored or extra breaks are put in between paragraphs.
I also continue to experience undesired changes in fonts (from WIDE to default) both when originally posting a message, as well as when editing it (I only post in WIDE on my site, to make my posts easier for my members to find.). When this happens, it usually only occurs in certain paragraphs as opposed to the entire text. There does not appear to be any rhyme or reason to it.
Both of the things I mentioned happens 90% of the time or more and has been going on for as long as I can recall.
One of the problems with the text editor is when going to edit on a previously posted message is there is code that has been added (hidden) at original posting so that when you edit the post elements of this it creates funky situations. Take for instance using wide (bold, ul, line break...). Though you do not see it, this code is implemented in the message. Now you go back to edit. You may alter the hidden code without being aware through deleting a sentence or spacing something and adding text.
If the edit function would display the hidden code it might help people prevent this. Just like chiefs reply concerning copy and paste from other text programs, those hidden code items can trip up the format.

Having an edit function so we could see and edit the code would be very helpful. If I remember correctly, when I first came over to Lefora there was an HTML edit option (which I did use). It would be nice if we could switch easily between html and plain editor while posting and editing to prevent the mess from occuring.
