Newbie to feeds - feeds rights, ownership, copyrights, etc.

So yeah I'm new to feeds and am not sure how this part of it works.  I used the import contents option and got some contents on the forum.  But I was thinking do I need permission from the owner?  Or is it not like that with feeds?

Also I think there should be a link that takes you to the original site.  I know there is the site address next to the profile picture but a link would be more convinient.
