I just made my forum yesterday and when I'm in administrator mode, I'm able to post YouTube Video but when I create a regular nick as a regular member, I can't upload YouTube video. I then change that nick into a Moderator, then upload video work again. I'm now concern my regular member can't post video. Is there a rule against that?

Hi swspyderman, what is the webbrowser product name & version number for each computer?  Do they both have flash installed and enabled like hal's suggestion.

http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

Thanks for the trigger for my thoughts, had checked all versions and settings the same, missed that on the PC that didn't upload it didn't have flash player, it does now and it works now.

Chief, sorry there still seems to be a problem uploading photos. I tried uploading a 6.2KB file and it froze at 99%. It is a .png file and I'm using Firefox 3.0.5
I'll try uploading it here.
Hmm it worked here but refuses to upload on my forum. Just checked again on a fresh post with the same file.

I was putting together an FAQ about uploading, hence the picture content.

Chief, addendum to the post above.

If you try to upload a file larger than 5MB you get the message above as expected BUT if you then try to upload another smaller file it freezes. You have to either cancel the post or post with no upload, move to another topic then return to the first one and upload the smaller file which then works OK. It seems the system caches the error and treats any file you try to upload after getting the error message as a large file and stalls the upload.

-----

Have also just noticed that the post count is not increasing. Just made three posts including a new topic and the post count was stuck at 556 for each post. Not a major issue to me but could be to others.

You can see my post count here is stuck at 70.

I've had the 99% thing tonight with FF, but uploads work fine with IE8.

Also just noticed the frozen post counts as well.

One of my members is complaining that flash really slows down her login and posting so she removed it and now has no upload files button!  She has tried re-installing but gets the same problem with it slowing the forum down......Any suggestions, or does she need to upgrade her computer, LOL!!!

I suggest she gets an expert in computers to look at it, such little information is not much to go on. Some suggestions I wouls make is Memory - does she have enough for her OS to use. Spare Space on the OS Drive. Clear the browser cache, defragmenting the OS drive.

All I wanted to do was upload a picture from my computer to a message, and if possible, imbed a URL in the image. Maybe do a little HTML with my pages and posts.
And I don't see any custom pages button for me to make custom pages, especially with graphics.

I tried to point the insert image to an image on another site and it wouldn't do it.

I was hoping this web site would at least have the same features as my old MSN groups site had, or something reasonably close.

I am disappointed....

Unable to post a small jpg onto a post, getting "invalid image URL" message.  When pasted directly onto post, doesn't auto detect image either.  Browser is IE8, host is Picasa.
Is there a known issue, or do I need to change permissions in my photo album?  Please help!

I am also a MSN transplant, hoping to have my messages boards migrated (touch wood) before the 21st.

SKM, this isn't the link you posted - rather, I just viewed the link you posted and right-clicked the image to get the url. I don't know why your link didn't work, I haven't used picasa...

Zolar1, you can't change your pages with HTML, but you can use CSS to change the layout and appearance.
Inserting and image with a url is certainly possible....

Thanks Coloneljack.
I'll use the "right-click" method, don't know what's up with those Picasa links.  (They have worked for me on other sites.)
Here's my finished page, thanks again...

Good morning,
I'm having trouble posting images from Image Shack and Photobucket on both IE7 and Firefox.
I keep getting the "Invalid Image URL - try again" message.
This is the code I normally use for posting to other forums.

any help would be appreciated thanks.
[[Edit] I now notice that it came out using the image link detection feature at the bottom the post.
Maybe this is the answer??

yes, we inserting an image, you can just copy and paste the image link, like http://example.com/example.jpg to embed in the post.  You can ignore all that extra syntax/code other sites provide.
