Can someone please tell me what this feature does?

It allows eventual banning of a Forum member. When a member is violating Forum policy to the extent that they need banning a warning must be sent first. If you use remove without warning the member can rejoin the Forum later since his Lefora registration is not affected. This is what you see when pushing the warn

Nope you don't have to wait, if they're still misbehaving you could Warn again but it's up to you. Banning will remove him/her from Lefora. They will not be able to rejoin using the e-mail address they originally used but they could rejoin using another but not with the same username, that will be forever blocked.

Yep, nice and easy to get rid of tools.

I all ready had to ban one.  Hated to do it because I see the guy on the river from time to time, but hey.... if he upsets your community, the rights of many supersede the rights of one I guess.

Is there anyway to block an IP?

Sorta, as straight blocking an IP is not a great way to prevent a person from using your forum (and it can negatively affect other members) - we came up with a slightly different solution.

If you are having troubles with a member, we recommend you ban them.  If they try to sign up from the same IP, we'll put them in your pending members list so that they must be approved by you (sorta works like blocking, but allows ppl through).

Hope this helps.

Hi Guys,

I'm a Founder of araullo66.lefora.com and on my Forum Admin-->Members-->Warning = 0 --->Action [one Action only]-->Warn.

Is this normal for Forum Admin to have this options "Warn" only.  I joined some Fora, except for Lefora.Support.com which I particpated and posted a message but not to other Fora.  Note that I didn't receive any warning from any Forum I joined and you can see my Warning [counter] is zero.

Thanks

Teng

Do you mean the Forum Founder to only have the 'Warn' ? If so, then yes. a founder you can either abandon the forum (effectively removing yourself) or assign Founder status to someone else, demoting yourself to Admin status.

Once you demote yourself to admin and sum1 else to founder, u can only go back to founder if the current founder gives up the status and reassigns u as founder.

Ok if I ban ban they are gone 4ever. If they request and I deny they cannot re-register,why? If I warn them and remove they are gone 4ever....but how do i remove their warnings then remove them so they can join at a later date????????

I think if you don't remove them, but set their status to banned, then this 'banned' status can be changed back at a later date. If you remove them, they will have to re-register with another email address.

(If a banned member changes their email address in their profile, can they re-apply, or is the email AND user account banned for ever...? Anyone know the answer to this?monkey )

ban with a warning and email is gone forever.
If removed with no warnings they can re-register with same info. in my experience.

I've had trouble with removed, warned members reapplying. You have to leave the status at banned to keep them banned.
