Why are managers allowed to re edit and leave dates the same
On another point it bothers me somewhat that lefora site managers can alter and edit the posts they originally put but leave the original date as if they posted it earlier, and has happened on a site I read.
I am a site manager, but I would not take advantage of my members, it appears lefora allow some to do it. why is that? The reason I ask is lefora state after 15mins a post cannot be re-edited? clearly this is false, as I know of a guy who did exactly this on his forum- ie: he re-edited a post he had named someone earlier on, ie in early february, and in early March I told him about it, he then re edited to their quote but no name, and then after a couple of days he deleted them ..surely it says to members managers on lefora can do what they like? even lie, after all this guy deleted when he realised he re edited after a month to cover lefora!
here is the enquiry I made about me, a quote out of context was taken by this manager to his sister sites wall of shame note my C&P post dates

the point is Raven said a couple of posts later to me, "what knight, you believe that?"

or as near damn the words to that effect, not saying I am quoting ad verbatim
but you get the jist, and for richw to deliberatly take one post I made on another site to his ignoring the reply I made to raven, and the context speaks volumns about him and for lefora to say 15 mins edit when managers can re-edit and lie? well what next? BIG BOOTS CENSORSHIPS
the point of admins being able to edit posts is that they are admins of the forum, and should be trusted not to abuse post editing, but make it for important system announcements. We might add other options around this in the future, but that's not a priority right now.
If you have any concerns with admins of other forums, this support forum is not the best place to post as it's more for technical support for admins. It's best to either talk directly to the admin in question, or leave the forum if you feel they are abusing their rights.
