Move Topic Problem

SInce the recent change to the Admin Move Topic feature, I have renamed a category to make it appear at the bottom of the now alphabetical list. However it has retained its position in the middle of the list. Is there any way to get the list to re sequence ( or reindex) so they now appear alphabetically?

This also affect new categories created since the change, they too are not sorted.

I can see that in time, the list will become horribly jumbled.
