Can the forums be made private? If so, how?

I'm running a writer's critique group and it is vital that it not be on public view OR searchable by spiders.

Thanks.

If the forum can't be made private, I'll delete it and take it elsewhere. It cannot be a public forum. So please let me know so I know what action to take. thanks.

Yes, they can be private, but what I'd like to know is,

--->if a forum is private, will graphics that are stored there be visible when inserted on other forums?

Only if members of that forum post or link to them elsewhere.

  Why be fearful?

That seems to be a good thing.

Is there a way to add an option for a forum to be semi-private. Meaning, the public can view the "Forum" page and see the topics available, but not the posts??

I am clicking the check boxes next to "Membership required to post" and "Membership approval is automatic," and then I click Update public settings, but when I check the summary page to make sure it worked, it shows that I must approve new members and that search engines can crawl my site.  Can you help?

the summary page may be out a few minutes out of sync.  The information that is displayed when you return to your Privacy Settings page is accurate.  Are you seeing a problem there?
