Lefora limiting all forum posts to 140 characters
We here at Lefora are always trying to improve the forums, adding
features that we think will save-time for admins and make Lefora forums
fun to use.
So that's why, today, we're proud to announce a brand new feature that will improve conversations on your forum. We've been following the latest internet trends and think Twitter's success is due in large-part to their 140 character limit on posts.
Starting tomorrow, we'll be limiting all new posts on Lefora to 140 characters - this includes parent topics and their replies. By limiting each post to 140 characters, we ensure that the conversation that happens on your forum are simple and to the point.
Some advantages of our new 140 character posting limit:
- You can now read an entire 80 post thread in just 15 seconds.
- Your members will be forced to include only the wittiest words and keep out the rest.
- Vowels will almost compltly disappear.

I agree with your point sir, but if you read the full article, you will see that the point the author is trying to make is not at all related to the number of kittens that can fit into a phone booth, but how many kittens WANT to fit into a phone booth.

No I don't like it. I think if we wanted a forum with posts like that we'd do it. I think it is wrong to force us to talk like that.
I'm extremely disappointed in this...and will seriously have to rethink things here.
I cannot believe the lack of forethought given to this, especially in forums where discussions can be very detailed.

On our forum we have lengthy posts to "tell" a story, we won't be able to do this in 140 characters.
Please put this back to how it was and what it was that attracted me to Lefora.

OMFG... no you can not...this is a joke right... holy crap I have just spent two months day in and day out transfering shit from all over the place to the lefora forums. I have 5 forums, 2 of which are spiritual & health related which there is no way you can have a philosophical disscusion in 140 characters.. and the other 3 are ROLEPLAY forums.. omg you cant even get your character into the damn tavern and buy a drink in 140 characters..not to mention my roleplay forums have over 3,500 posts... OMG do you know how many messages I would have if they were 140 characters long .. NOOOOO you cant bloody do this... i have spent thousands of hours moving here.. and so have many others I am assuming... i seriously will have a nervous breakdown if I have migrated over here with my forums and I have to move them all AGAIN..
