Refresh button
Can we have a refresh button in the sidebars ? It would be very helpful as we won't have to change the page we are reading to know if some new post or topic has been created.
Doesn't your browser have a refresh button? I'm sure that would be easier to use than searching for a button in the sidebar.
F5 works a treat for me.
It does have . But what I am saying is when I am writing this post and some new post has been created
(which can be seen in recent posts) I would know it when I finish this post and press the submit button. If a button to refresh the recent posts section in the sidebar is provided then I can easily see that a new post has come up without having to refresh the whole page.
Thank you very much
. But most of the posts(along with formulaes and diagrams ) in my forum are going to be long and I don't think chat box could be frequently used for it
clever conversations eh? Not for me then!
The sidebar and the posts are all rendered as a single page. As Col. Jack says, Firefox stores the text when you refresh the page so if you're mid post, hit F5 and you'll see any new posts in the sidebar but you won't lose the text you have typed, well maybe the last word.
As a workaround, why not select all in your editor by CTRL+A then CTRL+C, refresh, and then paste back your content?
That is a good alternative.
I am talking about something like this :
