Getting notified of new posts
I've read through the help forums and it appears that RSS is the best or only way to keep up with new posts in our forums, but I can't figure out how to get a feed from the forum topic? I've tried every option, Google (iGoogle), RSS 2.0, Yahoo (which got an error) and I'm not familiar with the others listed.
After making my selections, when I click on obtaining my RSS through my Google start page, it opens the page, rearranges it to the new style of the navigation on the left which I hate, but I couldn't find an RSS listing for my forums anyway. There WAS a new blank header with a URL in it, something like www.google.com/ig/modul, but nothing was there, said it was unavailable. Thank heavens I was able to reset my Google Start Pge back to the old style.
When I click on the RSS 2.0, nothing opens, nothing happens. How to we get a RSS URL to enter into the Google Feedburner site?
Thanks
iGoogle RSS feed works well for me. I would suggest the problem is with your google cookies.
Here's what I do when I want to track a thread.
Click the orange RSS button on the right hand end of the address bar for the topic.
From the page that appears I click SUBSCRIBE TO THIS FEED USING >> Choose from the drop down (I use google) and click SUBSCRIBE NOW.
Next I choose Add to google homepage or you can choose Google Reader.
This opens my iGoogle page with the module inserted listing the last few topic entries.
Clicking any entry takes me to the forum topic I have selected.
You can drag the module to any tab on iGoogle.
