Thanks for the link.

Going by what I read, would it then be possible to start with a fresh user account, without being unable to change the old one, but then assign admin privileges to the new name?

Would the original username always be stated as "founder"?

Would it then be possible to create a new user name, assign the 2nd name admin privileges, and then delete the original username without any loss?

Yes, create your new user and join your forum. Then, using your original log-in, you can assign founder priviliges to your new ID, and your original Id will revert to admin status. Then you can delete it. Sorted!
