I have a pesky user who keeps coming back, how do I ban them permanently?

On your 'Memberships' tab in your admin panel, you can select 'Ban Member' from the drop down next to their name.  HOWEVER, you need to Warn them first before this options becomes available.  You can warn a member by clicking the 'warn' link on this screen.

Chief, I have two LINKS: REMOVE and WARN. I don't have a drop down with BAN MEMBER on it. Am I and possibly others missing something?

You need to give a member a warning first before the ban option appears on that member.

I think they made it that way so that no admin can just ban a member w/o giving some sort of notice first.

If the ban option still does not appear after giving a member a warning then it must be a bug.

Banning is forever.  However, I'm not sure if changing the 'Banned' status back to 'Member' can remove the banning - maybe someone else knows the answer to this.

Banning happens as soon as you change the status. This only affects the forum from which they were banned and doesn't affect their status on other forums. They can re-apply, but not from the same email address that was registered to the banned login name.

When a member is BANNED, their username is removed from the ADMIN MEMBERS list and therefore cannot be reinstated as a user on that forum. However, their membership to Lefora as a whole is still valid and they can join other forums.
Here's the message a BANNED MEMBER will see when they try to login.

A temp ban is removing warnings then click remove not ban. My question is about delining membership and changes your mind. Suggestion---- Would like to be able to ban ip address.

Lefora's current policy is no IP add. blocking.

On a private forumif they request membership and I decline. They can't try again later with same address..I tried as a test.If I allow and remove them then they can retry to join. I read if I warn them and remove it's the same as a ban......unless I remove their warnings.HOW DO I REMOVE THEIR WARNINGS??

You can't remove warnings.

PS You left your capslock button on... You wouldn't want people to think you were being rude.
