We've partnered with takeforum.com so that new forums will be created on Lefora, and we've begun importing existing forums that want to move onto the Lefora platform.

What is the web address URL of my new forum?
If your old forum was http://takeforum.com/example, then your new forum will be http://example.lefora.com. Your takeforum 'shortname' will now be a subdomain on Lefora. In the future, we'll be able to redirect all your old takeforum pages to your new home on Lefora. We've moved all your private admin topics and sub-forums into a separate forum on lefora, but unlike other forum software, you won't have to have separate user accounts, on lefora, you don't have to re-login in when switching forums.

How do I let my new members know of my new home?
We recommend that you send all your members a Welcome Email and provide a link to your new home. We also recommend that you lock the topics in your old forum, and make a new sticky post that explains the move and provides a link to your forum's new home. Some people have even changed their forum's header to include the address to the new home.
To Send a Welcome Email:
1. Log into your forum with your admin account
2. Click 'Forum Admin' at the top left corner of your forum
3. Click 'Members'
4. Click 'Group Email'
5. Type a welcome email and include a link to your forum, like this email below.
Hey everybody, I wanted to let you know that we've upgraded our forum to a new site. It has a different address, but your login info and password will still work. Just login with your email address and your password and upload a new pic of yourself. All your old posts are in the new home.

How do I customize the header of my forum or change the colors?
You can upload a header image and change the theme and colors of your forum here:
1. Click 'Forum Admin'
2. Click 'Appearance'
3. Select 'Colors & Images' to upload a header image or change the colors in your forum.
I (the admin) or my members are having trouble logging in.
It's best to try to login with the email address you registered with on takeforum, not your username as their could be slight variations due to missing spaces or special characters. If your email/password combo isn't working, you can click 'forgot my password' to have a Reset Password Form emailed to your inbox.

Has any information not been imported over?
Do to complexities of the two systems, we have not been able to import Private Messages or Avatars. Your members can re-upload their avatar by clicking 'Edit Profile' in the top right of their forum. If Private Messages are important to them, they can login to the old forum, and copy and paste the old PMs into a file on their computer (or click 'File -> Save As' on their webbrowser).

We've been importing thousands of takeforum.com forums over the past month. Takeforum and Lefora have both emailed admins to try and make this process go over smoothly, but there has been a number of hiccups, and we're doing everything we can to fix these and get you up and running with your forum.
So if you do have any problems, we will be here to help you and fix what we can. It may take a few days, so please bare with us. We've imported thousands of forums successfully, but there are a few dozen that need minor adjustments.
I will personally get back to you on your forum, please just send me an email at 'chief -at- lefora.com' with the following information:
1. Your takeforum forum address
2. What problem you're experiencing (be as detailed as possible here)
3. Any other information that might be relevant.
I will get back to you within 1 business day.
Note - Search functionality will take a few days to work on a new forum, as our system needs to index all the content in your new forum.
How do I customize my forum's header image, background image, and colors?

How do I upload a background image to my forum?
If you want to add a background image to your site, follow these steps:
1. Upload your image to http://imageshack.us/
2. Copy the Image URL that ImageShack gives you.
3. Paste this code into your CSS tab under the 'Appearance' tab of your admin panel.

Problem 1
Why can't I have my real name as URL.
In Takeforum I had http://takeforum.com/pragtfinker, and now I have
http://pragtfinker2.lefora.com. I know that http://pragtfinker.lefora.com is
free, because I had it before and have shoot it down.
I like to have http://pragtfinker.lefora.com as my real name.
Problem 2
Another problem is that my Forum is in Danish and we have 3 special-letters
(æÆ, øØ and åÅ). All this letters are gone now, so that I can't read my texts
with this letters.
The same problem I have by my Members. Some names are missing this letters.
Problem 3
My Forum have only 1 founders but now I have 6 founders. 4 of them are
moderators and 1 is admintistrator. What can I do to change that.

Hi, I'll help you with your questions.
Problem 1 - we probably put a forum in a temporary home for you at pragtfinker2, we can import it into your real name, just reply to any emails that were sent to you (if you can find those, email 'cheif -at- lefora.com' with all your forum info.
Problem 2 - We can fix this on the posts, send an email to us linking to a post with missing letters and the original post on takeforum and we'll fix it. As for usernames, they may not be able to use those characters because usernames are displayed in the web address url and it doesn't support all characters. Your members may have to login with their email address and choose a slightly different username.
Problem 3 - We can fix this as well if you email us a list of the 1 founder, and then mods and admins.
Sorry you had those problems, we'll be happy to get this fixed for you.
and i just realized we did move your forum to http://pragtfinker.lefora.com/forum/
I will send you an email to clear up which is the 'correct' version of your fourm.

Yesterday we got an error on takeforum.com/unique and now the whole forum is gone?
I missed the important email, because I'm an temporary administrator on that forum. Are all our topics just gone now?

Was transfered to lefora, but:
I think it was an old backup or something because a lot of posts/threads are missing, I was wondering if I could get a backup or anything from preferably the newest version, but the one you imported now is ok too.
Another problem: I was an admin on takeforum as well as the founder, but the founder left the forums a long time ago and I took over. However now I"m not a admin anymore, meaning: the forum is without admins! This is causing just a bit of problems :p
next,
My forum used to be viewable to registered users only, while some other parts were completely private. Now the whole forum is viewable by everyone and the private parts are on a whole other forum. I wonder if I can combine those two forums and make them all private?
Last thingy, on takeforum I had my own template, now theres been isntalled a random template with headlines, summary on the right and only a real narrow forum on the left which is really annoying, was wondering if it's possible to get wide forums again, but maybe that will become clear once I become an admin again.

1. Since my forum has been moved to lefora, I have been downgraded to moderator, while I was admin before. Now the problem is the founder of the forum left, so now we don't have any admins to guide the forum. Wonder if it's possible to appoint admins from your position.
2. Loads of posts and threads are missing from my forum wonder if it's possible to get them back.
3. My forum used to be accesible only to registered members while now everyone can read it. I also had a private part which has now been send to a complete new forum. I was wondering if those 2 could be merged into one big private forum.
4. I was wondering if I could get a backup of all my posts and thread and more from you from both the forums (private and free one). Don't know if it's possible but that would make me feel safe as there have been a few problems with the forums :p
