Admins & Moderator Abilities

Mods CAN'T ban members as they have no access to the Forum Admin pages. The only things Mods can do is in relation to posts ie. Move, delete or mark as spam.

What about lociking a posting? Can a moderator do that?

Yes, a Moderator can Lock a topic, make it Sticky, Move it and change it's Title.

Oh and just to clear up a terminology issue... you cant actually ban a member from lefora can you? You can remove them from your own group but their lefora membership is still intact isnt it?  It doesnt "ban" them from rejoining either does it?

Yes you can. You're right in that Removing them allows them to come back but if you first send a WARNING then go to the STATUS drop down you'll see Founder, Admin, Moderator, Member and BANNED. Select this and they're Banned for good.
