When my member list was imported we lost all the numbers from usernames, is there any way I can edit the members names to put the numbers back in, ray109 now appears as ray---. there are quite a few members with numbers in their username that have been replaced with dashes.

Cheers

Hi Ian, we may be able to fix errors like that.

I see the account http://mvwf.lefora.com/ray---/blog/, could you provide a link to the original account on takeforum so that we can verify there were no other weird characters in the username to cause the error.

The problem is there are a lot of members with numbers in their usernames & these have all gone too & the numbers have been changed to dashes ---
I thought I would have the same kind of controls but lefora seems very limited on functions.

Many thanks

Hi Ian, I followed up with you in email, but in case anybody else has issues.

As for usernames imported by takeforum, some did have errors and were converted to dashes.  We've now fixed this, and if there is any errors, we just need a link to the original member's profile on takeforum and their new profile on lefora so we can investigate.

As for the 'limited on functions', Lefora actually has a number of features unavailable in phpbb, but the controls are a bit different, so it does take some time to learn.  We also opt on the side of simplicity, and automatically handle a lot of typical admin controls and actions so the admin doesn't have to - for instance, like flagging spam, we do this automatically when we can.  Other features we have that are not in phpbb, include:
 * the ability to embed youtube videos into posts
 * search engine optimized pages so potential new members can find your forum (1/3 of all forum traffic on lefora is from keyword searches on sites like google.com)
 * a rich text editor.
 * simple signup forms for new members
 * support for millions of flash widgets, like chatboxes, music players, and calendars (see the Lefora FAQ for examples)

If there are any specific functions that you have a question about, please feel free to ask about them here and somebody should be able to help.

Some of my member cannot login with their old username/email in takeforum. They've make sure that they put the correct email and password. While i have ask some others, they can login with no problem. What do you think the problem is?
I was thinking that perhaps the email comes first then the username? do the datapost bind with the email address...Thanks in advance

they should login with their email address and password (don't have them use the username, because the formatting may have changed.)

If they cannot login with their email address and password, they can click the 'forgot password' link to have their password reset and a link mailed to them.  If that doesn't work, please let us know.

thanks alot chief...
One last question for now :)
I cannot see in AdminPanel, the email of the members. I got only their username, join date, status, etc...but no email address. While sometimes the users they forgot which email they used when registering long long time ago ; and they ask us for help.
As a admin or moderator, should be it normal to see their member's email?
Thanks in advance,

No, the email address are not shown.

But, if your user requests a new password from the login screen, they will receive a new password in their registered email address.

good day everyone :)
Hi just want to inform that those people who cannot login to our forum before, apparently they forgot their emails or even forgot that they've changed their passwords. So there's no problem now. Thanks :)
