New Feature coming soon - Facebook Integration
One of the most frequent questions we get is 'How do I get more members to my forum?' And so we've been working hard on a number of features to help you market and promote your forum - something you don't typically get with other hosting providers. Expect to see a lot of developments around marketing your forum over the next few months.
Recently we added a 'share this' widget to give more options for your members to promote their forum. Over the next few days, we'll be releasing features to allow your members to promote your forum on facebook.
What if I or my members don't use facebook?
No problem, they won't even see the link. It's only displayed to people who have facebook accounts. We working with Facebook's API, called Facebook Connect. If a member has a facebook cookie set on their machine, then it's displayed, if they don't, then it's not displayed.
Is there any way to stop the "Connect to Facebook" window from coming up all the time (other than connect - which I don't want to do)? I click "cancel" and the "x" but it still keeps coming back. It is annoying to have to constantly click on that thing in order to see and read the forum.
Thanks for your help.
this is a bug and we're fixing it right now, i'm sorry about this, we'll have it cleared up in the next few minutes.
For any questions (or complaints :P) regarding this pop up, please post over at: http://support.lefora.com/2009/06/02/facebook-pop-up/page1/#post13562864
that annoying pop-up is fixed now. We've temporaily disabled it while we investigate the problem.
When we do return the feature, it will be OPTIONAL for members who want to 'opt-in' to posting to facebook. It will not pop up in your face automatically (a member would have to click a checkbox when posting and/or link their accounts in their dashboard).
