Public forum with membership to post?

Hi,
I would like my forum to be public (so that many people will see how great it is and decide to become members), but I also want membership to be required to post AND that memberships must be admin approved. The latter is very important to keep off spammers. Unfortunately, this seems to not be possible now. Am I right?
You can indeed have that setting in your admin panel, here's how.
And as for spammers, Lefora has world-class anti-spam support and automatic detects spam and prevents it from being posted to your forum. We literally block thousands of spam messages a day for admins - you don't have to lift a finger.
