Your Ads Are Destructive!
I can live with ads and understand that you need to earn revenue from a free forum but when the Google ads either prevent a page from opening up or slow down a page, that isn't fair.
The other problem is that ads are for digestive problems like constipation. How will that attract new members? Now the ads are placed right at the top of the page, making a constipation ad very annoying.
The new ads are there for non-members. The minute a person joins that ad disappears. This action should encourage people to join as well. If this is a problem for your community, we encourage you to check out Lefora Pro.
I'd like to hear more details on how the ad prevented the page from opening up so we can look further into this. Pages not loading is unacceptable to our team.
Concerning the ad choice, that is simply what Google has deemed appropriate by the content on your forum. So unfortunately that is out of our control.

Thanks for this reply, chatham. I was just about to ask if all members will have the ads located on top disappear or it was just for us admins and mods.
I also agree that it should encourage more lurkers to join in as well.
Hi,
Thanks for the reply and explanation. I did see the ad disappear when I logged into the forum. I'm still not sure how Google has determined that a digestive ad fits my forum's content but they must have some state of the art technology that can figure those things out.
I'm still curious about why having an ad at the top will lead someone to join the forum.

It's not much the ad at the top itself but a way to push a regular passive reader or "lurker" to finally register to your forum as a member that has been putting off to register for months. Even if the final push was just to get rid of that annoying ad at the top.
If they want the ad to disappear, they should just finally register. Just another extra incentive to register.
Passers-by or who just happen to stumble upon your forum should have no problems with the ads on top.
Posting an announcement on your forum that logging-in as registered members will have an added benefit of seeing less ads might be a good idea to entice them.

just passin through & thought yes bibby 1 is right & thought lets see the reply,
how would they know the add will disappear if they register ???
I find some ads bothersome and didn't realize they would disappear, if a person becomes a member.
Just wondering how many others know the ads will go away, once they are members.
we'll be adding text that says 'Join Now' to remove this ad.
When?
