Posting for non-members - limitations?

Dear Colleagues,

our forum is, at present, open for posting also to non-members. So far, we are not getting any spam, and we hope to keep it as open as possible for as long as possible to encourage people to participate, and maybe join later if they find it worth it. However, I realized that non-members cannot respond to older posts, and that they cannot start topics. Can we change this, or could we at least extend the period for which posts are open to replies from non-members?

Thanks,

G.

to protect from spammers, we have to lock old posts to guest replies (even if your forum allows guest posting), there is no way to change this, sorry.  Old posts get hit with tens of thousands of spam bots a day.

Thanks; and is there any chance that guests may be allowed to start a thread?

For spam prevention, guests cannot start threads.  However, signing up for membership on lefora is super simple, it takes less than 20 seconds and doesn't ask for all those long questions that other forum software asks for.
