When you click on the main category, shouldn't you see a list of all topics in that category?

When I click on a main category, I end up back with the regular page... like I never chose a category.
I use to click on the main one and see all other categories that were listed in that main one.
Example...
Main category... Animals
sub categories.. cats, dogs, fish... each with their own topics.
Clicking on Main category should put me in where I can see all listings for that whole section?
