Regarding the VIP program.

I can't remember now why but I was one of the 1st "bright" ones to go for the pro upgrade. No big deal- I stopped the credit card payment a few days ago. In my opinion, this is a good time to observe what is happening without making a rapid move. I was one of the 1st people who had an interest group on ICQ. Over time they have "improved" themselves to the point that it is a now a waste land. Finally, they decided that most of the interest groups did not fall into the desired age group that they wished to target (14-26 or so) The time came that they elected to delete all the interest groups except for the very oldest in each category (in the middle of the night without notice). I was the 2nd oldest in the ham radio category and my group was scrapped. I don't know why these things came to mind- but they did.

Hey Matt, there are a set of features included with the VIP program, one of these features is ad free browsing.  Another feature is a VIP Badge, some members may buy it for the badge, some members may buy it for the ad free browsing, and some members may buy it for the personalized tech support over email. 

We did consult with about 25 lefora admins who run larger forums on Lefora to get their feedback first and everybody was pretty positive on the VIP membership.  It's completely optional.  We'll be adding additional exclusive features just for VIP members in the future.

Chief, you missed Matt's point... What about forum admins who have their own ads on the site and you're allowing a way for users to block them....

If an admin has pasted their own static image ads on the site, the VIP membership will not block that.

Matt do you have your own ads on your forum, or are you just asking for the sake of asking?  Please try to limit questions in the support forum to issues regarding your own forum, otherwise, you can always just email me feedback.

See the Quote above Chief regarding Ads. So you are not providing Ad free, therefore it is not quite right to state the VIP program gives this. No, I do not have my own ads. I am sorry if the General section of Support does not encompass situations such as changes that Lefora makes that affect Forum use. I will note the change was not disseminated on Support for possible feedback.

I must admit if it was optional for Individual Forums to offer I would see no problems.
