The Attachments function at our site has not been working for several days now. I have been unable to load any photos from my personal files for forum posts.
Any help you can provide would be much appreciated.
Thanks.
can you please try uploading a file here to this post and let me know if you have an error. If you do, could you take a screenshot and try posting it to a site like imageshack.us
I'm trying to get the function to link a photo from my files, but I don't get any response when I click on the "Attachments" prompt.
No error. Just nothing happens, except the "Submit Reply" prompt box border "lights up".
Sorry, I don't know how else to describe it.
Just uploaded a 1.6 meg pic on your site with no problems....
Problem solved...I guess. My son just uplinked my pic from my files to a site called tinypics.com. From there, I was able to load it onto our forum.
I still don't know why the attachments function doesn't work.
The attachments function does work, that's what I used. What browser / OS / flash version do you have?
Although my attachments seem to be working ok, when I go in to edit mode so I can re-arrange my photo's in a particular order, they are not visible? Also I cannot put titles under my photo's because I don't know where they are.?...............Help Please
You'll have to use the "Insert Image" function rather than the "Attachments" button. The images will have to be hosted online before you can do this. This is a lot more flexible than using the "Attachments".
It seems, for some reason, only pictures off the internet are working. I tried to upload from my computer and the picture doesn't show. I am not the only one with this problem.

Colonel Jack... I appreciate what you're saying, but that sounds like we need to patch up holes in Lefora by altering our forum habits. What's the long term solution from Lefora? Surely there needs to be one, otherwise folk will get sick of the status quo and just move elsewhere. It wasn't that long ago that I was thinking of upgrading to the paying Lefora Pro account, but recent issues have lead me to believe I'd just be pissing away money better spent elsewhere.
Individual forum admins can't fix these issues. Only Lefora can. The question is, will Lefora fix them?

If you want to write under your pictures then you've always had to use the 'Insert Image' option. The 'Attachment' option was only for that - attaching items to the bottom of your post.
Not only can I write here, I've made the image into a link.... (Embedded images are also resizable.)
To be brutally honest, Col Jack, I don't know the ins and out of the difference between the two, as neither have really worked for me from the start, so I just host my images externally on Photobucket then cut and paste links. That's all we and good though, as it's a choice I've made for myself. It's just that having never had it work, it gets tricky when forum members are asking me how to fix it... All I can say is "I don't know! I've never had it work!"
As you can imagine, it's pretty embarrassing having to say that to members...
Hi Colonal Jack,
Thanks for your help.
I can see i'm not the only one having problems with Attachments and picture Uploads.
Why is it so difficult to put a picture your Site, it's enough to send you Wacho? (bring back o'neill)
I would think that most Members would not be bothered to, find another site to Host there photos, then get the embed code, then go to lefora site to post.
I can't see the problem with just copying a photo or inserting a photo from your computer.
This would make life so much easier.
Yep, I agree, it's not simple. BUT.. it's useful for embedding thumbnails or displaying pics that link to other sites eg Flickr, where you already have images uploaded.
