Hidden Posts VS Deleting

This question might have already been asked but i can't find it.

Why can't we delete post anymore- they only hide them,

There has been a few upsetting posts and i delete them but they don't delete- they just become hidden- and it never deletes-

so is there a reason for that- or is that a glitch.
