Lefora confused by two forums, same computer.

Hello,

I thought I was being smart by using two different e-mails for two different forums and be logged onto both, but it just confused Lefora. I can still log into one server but the other one thinks I'm a requesting add member instead of the admin. It all started when I realized when I logged on to Lefora admin, it only showed one forum so I figured it would be better if they both had the same e-mail addys so it would so both accounts under one address. WRONG. Now I can't log onto my own forum! I think it has something to do with cookies because when I'm on one forum, it gets confused when I add a new tab and log onto the other at the same time. Now I can only log onto one, and it doesn't recognize me at all on the other, even when I changed back the e-mails.

It keeps giving me invalid e-mail, invalid password, even on the Lefora site no matter how many times I change the password. This is so frustrating!

As I try to log on under my name it tells me the name is already taken. When I back up I got this message:

403 Forbidden

Cross Site Request Forgery detected. Request aborted.

I've tried all the passwords I changed it to and none work even though I can change the password at any time. I'm willing to answer any security questions, to prove I am who I am.

When I just type in my user email and click forgot password, send it to my e-mail, change the password and then try to log on it thinks I'm a new member and not the admin even though the the "admin and I" have the same e-mail address and user name. ARGHHHHH!!!!

You have requested to join this forum, and the admins have been notified.
Please wait for an admin to approve your request.

How is it possible for the "users and the admin" to have the same e-mail?

All I want to do is be able to log in with one e-mail on Lefora and have both of my forums under the same account. : (

All lefora accounts are tied to one email address, so you cannot have two different users on the same email address.

You can create new forums on that same email address.  It's not possible for a user and an admin within the same forum, to use the same email address.  However, you could be an admin of one forum, and a user on another forum, with the same email.

Thank you for replying to me so quickly.

I think changing my e-mail to be the same on both accounts is what created the problem.

I will try to log on using my other e-mail and see if it works. If not, since I was just starting that forum, is it possible to delete the forum entirely and start over? That way I can create the two forums under one e-mail account?

*whew*

I was finally able to log in to my account after several tries. I got really worried there...

But my question still stands, how do I move both forums onto one account? Since one forum has members but the other doesn't, is it possible to delete that forum in order to preserve it's name and start over under one e-mail account?

Don't delete the fourm as you will not be able to re-use the name.
What you can do is re-assign 'founder' status by going to Forum Admin > Members, and as long as both your IDs are members, you can switch a member to founder (the original founder will be re-assigned to Admin status.)

Oh okay, that could work if I run into trouble again.

I dunno if I over looked it, but perahaps users should be warned that they can only use one e-mail per account so if they want two forums they need to be under the same e-mail. I just thought I was being smart by doing in under two e-mails but it sure got me into some trouble!

Thank you both so much for the support and advice. Chief- you are the champ and I am so pleased with Lefora forums, I am very happy to be apart of it. Thanks!

You can have two forums with two email addresses... You just can't be signed into both at the same time.

There is one way that could be accomplished ie. having separate Forums under different user names/email. You need to run another Browser so that your cookies do not conflict. Opera, Konqueror, Chrome, Firefox, and others. Or really isolate by using different Operating Systems through Dual-boot.

I just discovered since I was foolish enough to use the same e-mail addy to long onto Lefora Support, now I can't even log onto my other forum. I wonder if I change my e-mail here would it make any difference. I can log onto one forum but not the other.

I tried to work around it by changing my e-mail on here but now it no longer recognizes my old e-mail on the other forum because everything apparently is tied together. I'm getting tired of trying. Is it possible for Chief to completely delete a forum because apparently I can't?

I want to start over but keep one of my forums. That way all forums are under one e-mail.

I think I've figured it out. I remembered another e-mail I may have used and tried it but it wouldn't let me log on. I went into the e-mail and changed password and was able to log on. I will have to delete both this account and the other forum. Then log onto the forum I want to keep and choose create new forum. That way everything is nice and organized under one e-mail. Who knew this was going to be so difficult. Yesh!

I guess my next question would be (and I'm sure it belongs in another thread but it pertains to this) is:

Do I get 2GB bandwidth per account or per forum? Because this will greatly effect my decision as to deleting my other accounts of course. I only have one forum I'm willing to go premium on, but the other I'm quite fond of and don't want to delete it.

I'm so greatful for all the advice so far, thanks everyone.

Well I guess I should figure it out on my own so I'm going to delete this membership so I can have all  lists under one account. But thanks for the advice and I'll be back on shortly.
