Emoticons

#0, by breezey, 13 August 2009 01:23 PM

I have a few members saying emoticons are not working.
I am able to use them, without a problem, but a few are not able to use them.

Watch me. Never tell me I can't. I know I can.

monkey

Could be something interfering with them...

What browser are they using?
Do they get the drop-down menu?
Do they appear in posts but disappear once submitted?

and if they're private forums, can you take a screenshot and attempt to copy and paste here the URL that the image is trying to use (by right clicking on the image and selecting 'copy image address')

and by chance, is it possible these members are on a mobile broadband connection, like a cellphone modem?  Could you ask them.

I know my members are using computers, not cell phones.
I will see what information I can find out, but I doubt it's something with their computers, if more than two are having this problem.

This is what one member posted....

I use Firefox on here as i need it to down load pictures . If using Firefox , I can not post emoticons .
BUT if using Internet Explorer , I can post emoticons but NOT pictures .
I have had  to choose one browser or the other for about 3 weeks now .

Which versions? I can use both with no issue...

What method of posting pictures is not working? Uploading or embedding?

One of my members has stated just what gaby54 just posted. The smileys menu drops down, but when a smiley is clicked on... nothing happens.

Funny thing there Coloneljack...  seems everyone was in a hurry to tell me they had problems, but not in as big of a hurry to supply information!
I am still waiting for people to let me know.
