Email Notification of Replies?

Notices for new posts and replies haven't worked for a long time. I made my own updates for my forum that members can sign up to receive, and it works good. 
I used Google Feedburner.

It seems like even the RSS is not working well. I've got it linked up through Feedburner, but am only getting updates when ppl post new topics, not reply to a current topic.

Members should realize they need to come back to a post to see what's happening on it.
Sending group emails is one way of reminding members that the site still has a lot of information worth coming back for. You could use your group emails as a different kind of reminder about what's going on in your forum.

In terms of asking them to come back to the site, it seems kinda 2002 to me. The themes happening on the web are to push content to where ever the user is instead of asking them to come to us. I'm gonna ponder a round-a-bout for this.

If I had to come up with a Top ten list of issues that Lefora needs to address (and not down the road as is the most common reply) Number 1 on the list would be Notification of post replies. Leforas Email system has been a Basketcase for a long time in its operation. I know that they are aware of this and frequently state things are in the "Works". I just wonder if there is belief Notifications are of minor usage and therefore assign little effort towards correcting the issue.

Hi, I understand the frustrations on missing these notifications.  It is my #1 concern at this point and is something we are working on this week and hope to have released very soon (hopefully within a week).  

It's been a while coming and I thank you for your patience so far.  We've made a massive overhaul of our email servers to help ensure emails get through to all the networks and through spam filters (we're now sending out hundreds of thousands of emails each month, which requires a pretty sophisticated server system and third party service providers to 'whitelist' us as a reliable email sender (i.e. don't get flagged as spam from sites like hotmail, yahoo, and aol.)

I too am interested in e-mail notifications for my forum.  How's this coming along?  Also, once it's ready, can you please...um, notify me via e-mail so I don't have to come back and search for the answer to my post And include instructions on how to turn this on?  Thanks.

I was receiving these recently, but now am not. Any ideas why?

vschanen & breezy, notifications of replies to topics has been turned on back on lefora for the past few weeks.  You will only get a reply to an *unread* topic that you've participated in.  We track if you've read a topic and don't send you notifications if you've read it.  As for topics that you haven't participated in, we'll be creating a weekly or bi-weekly newsletter notification on this, we'll be working on that over the next few weeks.

So if you don't read this topic, you should get an email notification that I replied to your post.  If you don't, make sure your are not opted out of receiving email notifications, under 'Edit Profile' -> Manage Notifications
