can't click on the banter box

Hi
I wonder if anyone can help.I have just started using the Tay 4x4 club forum and have tried to talk in the banter box but I can't get into the white box to talk. It wont even let me click on it . I am sure I am doing something wrong and it's a simple fix but am not sure what
