Daily Digest Email Notifications returning Sep 3rd - Please report bugs

After much time, I'm happy to say we're returning the Daily Digest email back into our email notification stream.  Please bear with us over the next few days as we work out any bugs or kinks associated with these emailings.  If you do experience any issues, please post them here and we'll get them resolved promptly.

What is the Daily Digest?
It's an email sent out every morning (PST time) that will notify members of your forum that there are new replies to topics they've participated in.  This means they either started the topic or replied to it.

What if my members don't want to receive a Daily Digest?
They can opt-out of these emailings from the 'Edit Profile -> Email Notifications' screen.  They can also opt-out at the bottom on any Daily Digest Email.

I want instant notifications of replies to topics I'm tracking.
That is an email notification we'll offer in the future, along with other emailings that we'll be working on.

How come I didn't receive a Daily Digest?
The first Daily Digest won't go out until Wed, Sep 3, around 9am PST.  If you didn't receive one after that then:

  • Maybe there were no new replies to topics you participated in.  We monitor if you've read a topic, and if we see that you loaded a topic and read all the new replies, we won't send out a daily digest.  
  • It's also possible that you've opted out of this notification, so please double check your notification preferences 'Edit Profile -> Email Notifications'.  
  • As a last resort, please check your spam folder and make sure it didn't get flagged as spam.  If it did, unspam it and report back here so we can investigate.

Where has the Daily Digest been?
With over 80,000 forums on Lefora, scaling our system so that your forums run fast and efficiently has been our #1 priority.  This in turn, has shifted our efforts of feature development to scaling.  The Daily Digest is actually a rather intensive process to calculate new unread replies for hundreds of thousands of members, so we wanted to optimize the whole system before re-releasing it.  We also underwent a major overhaul of our emailing servers over the past few months to ensure deliverability into hundreds of thousands of email inboxes.

In the messages, the user's name next to my photo has been changed. Yet it is correct on the members' list. How can this have happened?  How can I correct it?  'Rookie' must disappear and 'MrsC' be used instead.

mrsc, can you forward the email you received to 'chief -at- lefora.com' and include a link to your forum and the profile that you expect to see on the mail.
