Found a great header for our forum, but it's not wide enough. If you could please help me out with the CSS code to change the width I'd gladly tackle it. I would also appreciate the code to change the color of the Topic. Red over green is dull.

Thank you in advance for your assistance. THIS is a great site! I'm glad I found it.

If your image is not large enough you need a image program like the Gimp or my favorite Krita to resize.  Or you can use online ones such as at http://www.resizeyourimage.com/.
Find the appropiate size by looking at the Header code in Firebug I believe the Standard is 990px Width X 140px Height

You can change the Header parameters a bit with css code in the Admin panel. You can also eliminate items in the Header box. I use a custom header with the Title and description hidden and these are done instead as part of the image uploaded. See many other interesting Hacks in Categories in HackYour.Lefora.com

I'm not quite sure just what I want to do, and how to do it. I guess I need a hint as to where to find the CSS code for the header.

Most of us just use Firebug to grab the css code. It is a add-on to Firefox Browser.

Do I have to switch to Firefox to use Firebug? The husband doesn't like learning how to use a new browser. And for sure I don't want to have to go thru redoing his netflix stuff.

Not to worry, you can run any number of Browsers. You can leave IE as the default and still use Firefox for your code work. And your husband does not even need to know that you are fooling with another Browser! *gasp* devil

Excellent advice! I will download Firefox and adjunct apps this morning and have at it later.
Thank you. This is a great forum, filled with great people. I'm glad we found it and moved over. And I get to learn something new at my age!wink

Long as the husband doesn't know, MattB4, things will be OK! grin
