members avtar's
right is there any chance , that admin will be able to give members avtars??
as a forum looks better when members have avtars, Now i have been putting avtars on the bottom of posts so if members liked one they could take it the trouble is thats still to hard for a lot of our members or just to lazy,
i found that with the forum we had when i added an avtar for members most liked them & kept them or got motivated & changed it, i also found they got more involved with the forum when i had given them an avtar,
or could some random avtars be added by lefora after a month if they have not posted an avtar, as i said before it makes a sight look better with members having avtars,
Thanks quasar, we do add random color avatars to members, there's about 6 different colors in use. When a member logs in, and doesn't have an avatar selected, we place an 'add avatar' link over their photo wherever they see themselves on the forum to encourage adding an avatar. We also provide an avatar clipart library to members so that they don't have to worry about finding their own photo. Maybe your members don't realize there is a clipart library available for them, you might want to mention that in a new member area.
Also, a good question would be, do you have members posting with no avatar uploaded, or are the empty avatars of members who have not posted in a while? If they are posting, maybe send them a PM asking telling them about uploading an avatar? If they are not active, then their profile won't appear around the site much (so other people wouldn't notice).
Your ideas of encouraging members to upload avatars and maybe something we would do in the future. We have added a lot of functionality (mentioned above) to encourage avatars, which most forums don't do.
Maybe running a one-off best new avatar competition would get your members going...
will give the coloneljack idea ago, lets hope it G's them up abit
