Embedded or attached photos are displayed up to maximum size of 500px by 1000px. If they are larger than this then they are scaled back to fit within these dimensions. This is only for display and the pictures actual size is not changed - any pictures downloaded will be full size (or, in Firefox, right-click the image and choose 'View Image' to view in your browser.)

Thank you coloneljack, as I too was having this problem. And man...I've been gone a while, the text formatting box is great now. Haha. I look forward to using Lefora again.
