Redirecting issue
Hi, I understand that redirecting could be used by lefora to profit, and I accept it, but I find annoying that the links people paste in the messages show the redirects.
The problem is when you in a future chose to change your redirecting service (or something like that).. so, the existing links in the messages are useless... unless an (scarce) avid user manages to copy and paste the usable part of them.
An example:
http://redirectingat.com/?id=780X130946&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca%2Fes%2Findex.html
(The original link in the message is: www . immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca%2Fes%2Findex.html )
Hi,
thanks for making us aware, after looking into it, we've discovered that is a bug. No urls are being replaced in the actual html in general, what's happened is in that one case that url has been copied and pasted from an exisitng post, and the right click of that action trigered some javascript, and it was pasted with a redirect into a new post.
We have have removed the code from that service, and contacted them about this bug, and we wont be putting it back until they have fixed it, as we agree that it is not acceptable for links to be re-written even in those rare 'bug' cases.
You're fears about redirecting services are quite justified, so thanks again for pointing this out, and sorry for those few broken links.
