I was just looking at the forum stats and noticed that our "most active new members" stats seem rather odd:
Why are members who haven't even posted a single reply being listed as "most active" anything...? It's not like they're prominent lurkers either - far from it...
What's going on here?
i believe our algorithm is looking for the 10 most active new members. As long as 10 members have joined recently, it will always display stats about 10 members.
Fair enough, Chief, but how "recent" does it have to be for them to count as "recent"...? [Nevermind the question of what constitutes "active"]
The things is, we've other almost-equally-recent noobz that have been far more active, and up until quite recently they used to feature on the above list. Now they've been replaced with decidedly "inactive" most active noobz...
I understand that there must be cold, hard mathematical algorithms to govern who gets included, but it seems daft to me that inactive members can be described as the most active "anything"... I'm a bit o a maths (and therefore algorithm) fiend myself, but this just seems absurd. No?
I'm confused...
Any chance Lefora could add a most active "inactive new members" table...? Sorry for taking the piss and all, but hopefully you see my point.
