Posting Issues

#0, by bibby1, 31 October 2009 03:25 AM

Hi,
I notice one of my admins tried posting and the psot titles on the sidebar now say this:
Normal 0 false false false …  which redirects the psot to an error page.

can you explain what's going on?

Thanks

Unable to attach files to my forum. Has been working fine until yesterday. All I get is 'File loading' but no data traffic observed.
Using OpenSuse and Firefox and now Ubuntu/Firefox. Anyone else reporting problems?
Many thanks
Stob

I have tried a number of different file formats and different PCs and OSs. All I get is Uploading File please wait. The file I am trying to upload is 30kb.

I do use noscript but all exclusions have been withdrawn for lefora.

I am unable to even upload here. Please, any suggestions?

Have you tried temporarily disabling or uninstalling noscript? I'm sure i uninstalled it before for the same reason... even with lefora allowed it still didnt work...

I'll try but files were capable of being uploaded on 28th October with no problems and I have had no Noscript updates since then. With the use of 2 PCs and 2 OSs it would seem that the problem (if one exists) lies with Lefora but with few others mentioning this, that would appear unlikely....
Thanks again Colonel

Noscript removed but still no change. All I get is Uploading...please wait.

Is there a file limit that you can possibly exceed? What is the warning received when you exceed that please?

Checked file limit and way way beneath any limitations.

Real problem as we use this forum to aid students with their Maths problems.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

There's a 5MB limit for individual uploads, but i doubt you'd be exceeding that...

Is anyone else on your forum affected?

I am attempting to upload a 30kb pdf document. Another user has reported the same problem: "Uploading please wait"

I do get Transferring data from stats.yourminis.com in the status bar for a period then it changes to Done. I get data traffic indicated on the router but the display of Uploading....Please wait does not change.

Thanks great idea

I am still getting the Uploading ... please wait, but no 'Transferring data from stats.yourminis.com' just 'Done' but of course no data files uploaded.

I have no tried it with 3 PCs, 3 OSs, 3 users. ??? Out of ideas my end. They are all with one internet company BT from England. Could that be a problem or am I pulling at straws now?

Just uploaded to your off-topic category - no problems there. Your widget also loaded no problem.
I am also on BT.

What version of flash do you have?  As flash is used for our uploader.

Flash installed is

9.0.246,

It worked on 29th October.  Although the Flash installed on my PC is as above, that would not account for the flash version used in other users PCs - who also are unable to upload.

I have re-booted the PCs, re-booted the Router, used different OSs, different PCs but Colonel Jack has uploaded with ease onto the Forum.  I know that I am unable to upload to the Forum whatsoever from my school (as it used older windows software and probably because the myriad of software security controls that all schools apparently require these days). But I still am confused that it worked fine on 29th October but has refused ever since. The thought from the Chief does have merit if this is to be found to be unsupported.

Many many thanks

Bob

Could you try upgrading to the latest version of flash (they're now at 10.x), please let us know if that resolves the issue.

Chief, sorry but I have uninstalled Version 9.0.246 and then checked the repositries for SUSE to reveal that this is the latest version. I have upgraded with a version 10 plugin but your suggested web link still confirms that it is version 9.0.246.
I still have the same problem.
I am now resorting to a third party file linker which is not ideal at all, but I still want to meet the needs of the pupils. Any other ideas more than welcome.
Thanks again, really appreciate the support offered.
Bob
