Hi,
Is there a way to limit my forum members use of a signature until they have written a certain number of posts.
The idea would be to limit new members to the use of their signature until they have written 50 posts, so that they will be members in good standing and not just posting a link to their website for SEO purposes.

Condoms/Birth Control
Sexual Health
I post deals and prodcuts.
My current shopping and deals forum is not the place since it's open to the public.

Re: Recommendations For Posts
October 28, 2009 by bibby1
Some image urls aren't in jpeg or gif format, so the imgae can't be displayed.
One other question. Is their an easy way of deleting multiple posts from a category or do I have to delete them one at a time? How about deleting an entire category at once?
Thanks.
Is this ad appropriate?
October 23, 2009 by bibby1
I know the importance of showing ads on our blogs (Sidebar top) but their must be a way in google Adsense for the Lefora team to block offensive ads.
My viewers associate these ads as those placed by me.

Re: I am disappointed with Lefora

I've been hear for nearly 7 months and I love Lefora. Like every company they have the occasional hick-ups and as quickly as I am to moan about it, they've figured out the issue.
Chief is an extremely patient person and takes pride in making Lefora what it is. FYI, there are over 89,000 forums here.
I had a simialr issue with a member spamming my forum and not adhering to my rules. I warned the member and then banned them.
My question to anyone is:
When you ban a member, does it ban their IP address and prevent them from signing up with a different username?
Re: Recommendations For Posts
October 6, 2009 by bibby1
Hi Chief. Lets say that I have a banner that I create (and is hosted elsewhere) and it is provided to me in html code. I'd like to be able to paste the code in the post and have it appear with the link activated.
It makes it easier than copying the source/image link and then having to copy the url as well. So it would be similar to the embed flash option but maybe "embed/insert html".
Thanks.
Recommendations For Posts

Below are two things I'd love to be able to do when posting:
1) The ability to choose to be able to open a link in a new window.
2) Adding html code to a post.
Thanks.

Re: Forum extremely slow tonight
October 1, 2009 by bibby1
chief this problem started when you added the new ads to some forums. Before then, things were running smoothly. My computer freezed up while I was trying to open the forum if Firefox, while reading an article about teh new ad network in ie that was about soem ads containing malicious adware.
Since I couldn't read the whole article or find it afterwards and then do further research, I'm concerned.
While it may seem far fetched that adding a little bar ad at the bottom of the page could cause server issues, I've heard baout these things occuring.
I'll try to find out more about the network. I belong to a well known forum about affilaite marketing and will pose the question to the experts.
Thanks

Hi chief. It's still extremely slow on my end. The last time I opened my forum it took 40 seconds and the forum is my ie home page and Firefox homepage which means it's cached and should open up in seconds with my broadband.
Thanks.

Forum extremely slow tonight

Hi,
It took 9 minutes for my forum to load tonight. Is there something going on.
Re: Ad appearing at bottom of my forum

Thanks for your response Chief. Sorry if I came across as being rude. I love Lefora and want to see it keep its rightful place atop the forum world.
Re: Ad appearing at bottom of my forum
September 30, 2009 by bibby1
Thanks for your reply but it is slowing down the load time of my forum which never occurred before. The problem:
When a page loads slowly, you tend to try and use your mouses scroll button, then the ad at the bottom jumps around and you end-up hovering over the ad and a flash player then opens up and a video starts playing.
On one occasion, 3 new windows popped up. I had to run my spyware and adware remover and it found 5 threats that have never occured.
I know Lefora is concerned about security and this seems to be a major security threat and not worth the hassle.
Besides it's extremely annoying. I had 3 potential members tell me they refused to join a site that had ads like this. They had choice words for me.
So I make a plea for you to ditch videoegg.com. The problem with video networks (I've been an affiliate marketer for 6 years) is that video ads haven't been perfected and are extremely annoying and sluggish.
I think you ahve to choose between potential quick revenue or destroying a brand that is right now the leader in its industry.
Yes, folks, right now there's nothing like Lefora but I hope they're not lured by this video ad network.
I've personally dropped 24 sites this year as they went to simialr style ads. 23 of those sites lost 85% of their membership in 6 months time.
Chief, it's really not worth it and I can tell you that from my first couple fo hours trying to deal with this threat to my forum and computer.
Ad appearing at bottom of my forum
September 30, 2009 by bibby1
I don't get mad at new Lefora additions often but a new
flash banner at the bottom of my forum now appears and is annoying my members,
potential new members and me. It's causing pop-ups and the forum (http://saverschoice.lefora.com) 5
minutes to load and is unacceptable.
The ads also cause my computer to stall.
Lefora claims that it doesn't allow javascrypt on forums but it doesn't care
about adware ads, pop-ups, etc. This is TERRIBLE.
I hope this is just a test. Please remove thsi add from my forum now and in the future.
It seems as if you're using some ad network that allows inline, or in-text type of system. These networks are known for adware and spyware which is why it surprises me that Lefora has decided to compromise its stric policies for thsi parasyte type of ad.
I'm sorry for how mad I'm comign across but this is a low for Lefora.
Soting Categories Alphabetically?
September 29, 2009 by bibby1
I have a question about sorting topics within categories. For most of my categories I like that they're sorted automatically by most current date posted.
Is there a way of sorting specified categories alphabetically?
Thanks
