Thanks for the suggestions. At somepoint in the future, we'll have the ability to add more tabs, for now we recommend using the links widget like I do here at the top of support.

Two sidebars may also be an option in the future, for now, you could make your sidebar wider and put widgets next to each other using the Custom HTML widget and CSS layouts (kinda advanced though), maybe a good question for hackyour.lefora.com

they should get a daily notification. If they're not, tell them to check their mail preferences (under Edit Profile) to make sure they're not unsubscribed.  Also tell them to check their spam folder in their email (just in case).

Thanks for reporting, I've had it happen a few times to me as well.  We'll make sure to address this in Lefora 2.0 and have it working correctly.  We'll be upgrading forums over the next 2 weeks.

We use a third party library for our uploader, so it may have been a change in there software.  We're still making fixes to Lefora 2.0 and if it's not working for you after we iron out some bugs, say, Dec 1st, please post back here.

In the meantime, you can use imageshack.us to upload images and link to them from your forum.  I understand this can be an inconvenience, so we'll look into this issue on the Lefora 2.0 platform.

hi xombiekitty, there is no way for admins to turn off email notifications for their forum, there have been half a dozen email notifications that go out automatically, and we add new one's periodically.  We also allow individual members to optout of notifications. 

In our development process philosophy, we choose to keep things simple for the admin and not have lots of options to turn features on and off, this also allows us to keep our programming code more efficient and better able to scale with new features.  I understand some admins want more 'advanced' tools, but by keeping the options to a minimum, it really does allow us to add new features frequently and it's part of our development philosophy.

New Feature - Weekly Newsletter for your forums

Today we've kicked off a brand new feature, a weekly newsletter auto-magically generated for your forum.  It will highlight new members, hot topics, and the most active posters for the week.  This will go out to all members of your forum and will appear to come from the founder of the forum.  Your members can choose to opt-out if they wish.  The newsletter is only mailed out if there was at least one post and other activity in your forum over the past week.

We've had a lot of admins ask us to help get members returning to their forum and we believe this will work very well.  We have more email notifications planned for the future, after we release Lefora 2.0 in the coming weeks.

Hi, as that is an old takeforum forum, you'll need to email ask@takeforum (dot com), I'm not sure if that other email address works.  Lefora only supports new forums created on takeforum as part of our partnership, not the older phpbb ones.  Email them and they should be able to help.

First question, for the password reset email, did you check your spam folder?

this yahoo pipes discussion is for more complicated setups.  if you just want to add your blog's rss feed, we recommend the Blidget (blo widet) and widgetbox.com  They'll turn your blog into a flash widget that you can paste into the 'Custom HTML' widget in your admin panel's sidebar.

Hi Pastor Kevin, I'm sorry to hear that.  That ad comes from Google Adsense, we have no way to control which ads appear on which forums.  Google Adsense generally only allows family friendly ads.  They are the largest ad network and the one that you see across most websites.  There is always the option to upgrade to Lefora Pro to remove all the ads.  Here's some information about the cost of running a forum.

There sponsor section is images that they placed on their sidebar using the custom html widget.

So if you have a sponsor, say a reef company, and they provide you with an image, you can upload that image to a site like photobucket.com and they'll give you HTML code that you can copy and paste into a 'Custom HTML' widget on your forum's sidebar, just like the paypal button.  Use HTML to link that image to the sponsor's website.

We'll look into any issues that you just reported.  So far only you and 1 other admin have reported issues, but we're still looking into it.

Yes, Lefora 2.0 is a more stable platform, we re-wrote the entire codebase with scalability in mind, as that has been a pressing concern for us - we now host almost 100,000 forums with 2 million visits to our forums each month.

bibby1, that error you posted is different then this subject of this topic.  the background issue of your forum is, I assume, because of a bad CSS line or two.  You should head over to hackyour.lefora.com and try to debug the issue in your CSS file.

adding a subscribe button with a theme skin would be difficult.  We would recommend adding a subscribe button at the very top of your sidebar, so it's on the top right of your forum.

Hi, I see that your not logged into the support forum when you posted this question, that might be the first cause of your issues (guests cannot upload, and the reply box is smaller).

1st, are you able to login to the support forum without any errors?

2nd, the uploader uses flash and requires Adobe Flash 10 as I mentioned on another thread we conversed on.  Maybe on suse there is no option to upgrade to flash 10 from adobe at this point, but i'm sure they'll offer one in the future.  We also may be changing around or uploader after Lefora 2.0 comes out, so that might be of help to you as well.

Without Flash 10, i'm sorry, but you won't be able to upload any attachments or header images.  However, for header images, you could always upload them to photobucket.com, and use CSS to link to the image, so you can still customize header and bg images by storing them somewhere else any setting them as bg images with CSS.  hackyour.lefora.com can help on how to use CSS on your lefora forum.
