little red "new" box

April 21, 2008 by maryd

Hi, i'm finding on the forum view that the little red "new" box doesn't go away even when all the posts in the thread have been read...  it's confusing.

forum description

March 18, 2008 by maryd

hi, we are still not seeing a description of our forums below the title.  it's working on your lefora support forum... but not on the forums i'm part of , using "simple" theme.

(Thank you for all your hard work and responsiveness on getting these bugs sorted out!!)

We are using the "simple" theme--   I had just tested it in classic to see if it was theme-related.

I did just test on my forum, and the "numbered" bullet list works in simple theme.  If you could get the un-numbered bullet points working as well that would be great.  Thanks so much.

so i can make a bulleted list on WORD, past it in to "text editor" and have the bullets appear on my forum.  in the visual editing window, it looks right, but doesn't end up looking the same when posted.

also not seeing any option for moving the thread (changing it to a different category)

  • test
  • test 2
  • test 3

i've tested it with both SIMPLE and CLASSIC theme, both show the bullets when I am in the editing window, and then when I click submit, the post shows up with no bullets.

Ok, my bulleted list works fine here but not on my forum...

Some ideas for conserving water (Esther says: some are rather extreme and unless necessary, more work than money saved in my opinion):

  • turn off water while scrubbing hands
  •  put bricks (or something) in toilet water tank to reduce amount used to flush each time
  •  flush toilet only when necessary (ie, if it's yellow let it mellow, if it's brown flush it down)
  • use dishes rinse water to wash the next time
  •  use dishes wash water to flush toilets stand in basin while showering to catch water and use that water for flushing toilets or watering plants
  •  turn off shower water while soaping or shaving
  •  fix any leaky water fixtures check water meter for hidden leaks (see if meter wheel is turning when you know all the water in the house is turned off)
  •  use washing machine for laundry only when have a full load use water saver shower heads

Some ideas for conserving electricity (Esther says: again some of these ideas are more pain than they are worth in my opinion):

  • use all fluorescent bulbs in places where the lights will stay on a while (esp, avoid halogen bulbs as huge electric consumers)
  • turn off lights and fans when not in room (and have the kids do that as well)
  •  turn down hot water heaters to lowest acceptable setting (or don't use them at all)
  • use cold water for laundry and only for full loads
  • set fridge/freezer at warmest setting for acceptable inside temperatures
  • unplug computers and other electric equipment that still pulls some power when turned off
  •  microwave ovens, toasters, electric only dryers, irons, and hair dryers are all huge consumers of wattage

Re: color option

March 11, 2008 by maryd

it would also be nice if there could be some options regarding the media display.  i really liked the way the most recent picture was displayed before the march 6 "upgrade", and really don't like the way the headline page displays "latest media" now with small thumbnails of four pictures and the youtube videos below.

color option

March 11, 2008 by maryd

hi, i know you are working on major stuff at the moment, and this isn't huge but would be nice.  When all the dust gets settled, an option that would be nice is that we could customize the color of the "new" thread /new post indicator.  The "RED" doesn't necessarily go pleasantly with our color schemes...    Thanks!

"about" question

March 7, 2008 by maryd

It seems like since the upgrade, the info in "about" which was a short description of the forum is no longer appearing in the title box of the forum, at least while using the "simple" theme. The tabs you are using on this support forum are nice, but a bit more complicated than the people on my forum will be able to work with. Is there a way this description can still appear beneath the title? It was nice to have that short description when the forum page was opened up.

new posts identifier gone?

Hey, I know you are working on fine-tuning after this upgrade. I'm really missing the strip of peach coloring that highlighted new posts once I open the thread. Can we get that back, or some helpful equivalent?
