Re: Links not showing

July 12, 2009 by wannabemountainman

I appreciate everyone's attempts at helping me beat this issue, but I must be missing a step or something.
I copied the text into notepad, before deleting the original in the post. Since notepad does not copy links inserted in text, after copying/pasting from there to my post, I had to use your insert link feature. I crossed my fingers and clicked Save, and I'm back to square one...Text with links inserted is invisible, unless I highlight it.
If someone could have a look at my page source, and tell me if there's a specific background color code I need to change, it would be appreciated.
The post I first noted my problem in is http://woodlifepeople.lefora.com/2009/07/02/make-an-oil-lamp/page1/ , but there are others. Once I know what to do, I can spend some time fixing up the whole forum.

I copied a post to notepad, then tried to edit the original. I can neither delete or backspace the old text in order to clear the post. I could just delete the entire post, but that would involve saving the many pictures in the posts, which I'm trying to avoid.

I see plenty of space in your posts - what screen resolution is being used?

-coloneljack

OK, sorry. Her resolution was set at 800x600, whereas mine is at 1024x768. Everytime she looked at my monitor, she'd complain about how small my font and icons are.

Can you post a link to an affected post?

These don't overlap now, but our creator was posting videos tonight and had to resize every one, because they were going into the sidebar, even with left justify. Normally, a You Tube video "width 425, height 344" would fit perfectly, but you can see the drastic reduction she has had to make.
Were the member names to the left of the posts before this?

Nice feature to encourage people to post. But you gotta help this novice out, please. The new look has nudged my videos  and printed posts to the right, so they are now overlapping my sidebar. I don't want to reduce their width anymore than I already have. I guess you can't please everybody.

The theme looks like a modified version of one of mine... unfortunately whoever changed it forgot to change the colour of the links too...

Hi,

It is one of yours, Camo Theme 3. I'll try the advice about copying to Notepad 1st, then try changing the color of the link font.

Thanks for the replies.

Links not showing

July 2, 2009 by wannabemountainman

Whenever we post an article from an outside source to our forum, http://woodlifepeople.lefora.com/forum/ , we strive to keep all reference and links to the author intact. However, lately all the links have been invisible, and the only way to see them is to highlight the empty space where they should be.

Any thoughts? Is it the color scheme of our forum which is doing this? Is there a way to change the color of the link font, so that they will be visible....I ask this because we are quite happy with the background theme we chose for our forum.

It funny that I can't change color with code, yet I can italicize with it.
